To provide a needs led service for young people
in the 'Looked After System'. Its function is to provide placement
options that focus on the needs of those young people. This incorporates
a holistic approach to social, psychological, emotional, educational
and spiritual needs.

To provide a high quality residential service based upon clearly
defined therapeutic principles. The philosophy is eclectic, though
primarily based upon Humanistic and Person-Centred ideas.

To ensure services provided to the young person reflect an agreed
care plan, which is based upon partnership between the project,
the young person, their family and the Placing Local Authority/Agency.

To provide through local education and specialist schools, access
to appropriate educational input to all school age young people.
To ensure effective planning and consultation with relevant individuals
and agencies.

To provide vocational support including appropriate work experience
and work placements (as is age appropriate). To ensure these are
fully integrated into the Care Plan.

To recruit appropriately qualified staff to manage each unit who
have the relevant experience for its purpose and function. All other
staff will be chosen with experience/qualifications matched to the
establishment and participate in an extensive induction and on going
training program.

To provide a conducive learning environment for staff to develop
their skills by undertaking training (Learning Disability Award
Frame Work and particularly NVQ Level III) as well as a supportive
milieu that encourages staff development and maximises staff potential
